Job description

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2304
$500 CONTRACT COMPLETION BONUS
Opportunity:
RN - CVOR
Job Details:
• Variable shift start times depending on requisition
• Schedule made in 6-week increments, received 1-2 weeks prior to schedule beginning - no self-scheduling, must be flexible, block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Every other weekend rotation required; rarely back-to-back weekends
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday expectations: Summer - 2 of 3 holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4th); Winter - 1 of each group: Thanksgiving Day or day after, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day
• Minimum 3+ years of emergency department experience required; 1 year of travel experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of ED experience
• Patient ratio of 1:5; 5th patient will be low acuity with minimal resource needs during surge times
• Care for patient types ranging from neonates to geriatrics
• Common diagnoses include minor traumas (MVAs), sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory issues, SOB, cardiac issues, chest pain, neuro issues, and AMS
• Travelers are not expected to work the triage area
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; PALS preferred
• Required skills: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, strong IV skills, basic ED knowledge of drips and medication administration, and obtaining EKGs
• EMR: EPIC experience preferred
• IV Pump: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Pyxis; Bedside monitors and central monitor at nurses' station
• No floating required
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Free parking in designated areas
• No artificial fingernails or extenders when providing direct patient care; natural nail tips must be kept less than ¼ inch long
Facility:
This facility is a 231-bed teaching hospital located approximately 30 minutes from Chicago with no trauma designation. The emergency department operates with 24 beds and averages 115 patients per day. The unit is supported by ER Technicians, a Charge RN, Rapid Response Team, phlebotomy services for difficult sticks, and hospitalists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
