Director, Project Management, Small Business BankWe are seeking a Director, Project Management, to lead high-priority initiatives across our Small Business Bank line of business. In this role, you will be the architect of various program management efforts-designing roadmaps, establishing operating rhythms, and driving progress across complex, matrixed environments. Some examples of projects you will lead include helping Small Business Bank align on a technology destination, and roll out industry leading products that remove fees for our customers to help with our mission to modernize banking.Responsibilities of a Director, Project Management:
  • Driving Execution & Progress: Leading core working group meetings to maintain momentum, tracking outcomes, and ensuring the program remains on track
  • Roadmap & Planning: Building and maintaining detailed project roadmaps, and establishing go-live requirements and schedules
  • Risk & Issue Management: Creating frameworks to monitor, measure, and elevate risks or issues, particularly when timelines are at risk or project deliverables fall off-track
  • Stakeholder Communication: Crafting and implementing comprehensive plans to keep key stakeholders informed of progress, decisions, and outcomes
  • Contact Center Delivery: Coordinating contact center impact assessments and ensuring compliance with program objectives, standards, and associate readiness requirements
  • Strategic Direction: Leading teams through complex, dynamic environments to deliver on high-priority strategic goals
  • Planning & Delivery: Designing and managing project plans while remaining flexible enough to revise needs as requirements evolve, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Relationship Management: Building and fostering strong relationships with cross-functional partners and project customers to provide thought partnership and ensure commitments are met
The person will:
  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment
  • Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style
  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 7 Years of Project Management experience
  • At least 3 Years of People Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters or MBA degree
  • 8+ years of Project Management experience
  • 4+ years of People Management experience
  • Product Management experience
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
  • Experience working within a large, complex FinTech or Banking Organization

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Project Management


Richmond, VA: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Project Management










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
