Overview

The Project Controller assists in the planning, directing, and coordination of activities within designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Provides analysis of reports, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services. Must learn and understand how to interpret safety hazards related to the work and effectively implement a construction strategy. The Project Controller may be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews budget to determine whether or not project is performing work within budget
  • Prepare various project reports for management, client, or others to analyze labor hours, work performed, or other costs
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and scheduling work and determining cost effectiveness
  • Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss miscellaneous cost issues
  • Review material and labor requirements, equipment and production costs, performance requirements, and project schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Assist other workers as needed

Qualifications

Physical:  While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee may be required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods during office work and meetings.
  • Move periodically across office settings, client venues, and active project or site locations.
  • Operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information in person, electronically, and during virtual or telephone meetings.
  • Lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Mental:  While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee may be required to:

  • Direct, collaborate with, and communicate with executives, clients, and project teams. 
  • Interpret and apply company policies, safety protocols, and written instructions. 
  • Perform mathematical calculations, analyze business data, and review project estimates.
  • Maintain accuracy, productivity, and attention to detail while managing competing priorities in an active office environment with frequent interruptions. 
  • Process, retain, and manage complex project details, contractual requirements, and client data.
