ABOUT THE ROLE
The Project Controls Specialist Progress Measurement is responsible for effective delivery of the project earned value measurement and reporting function including consolidation, analysis, reconciliation and reporting of engineering and construction progress utilizing the earned value method (EVM) of progress measurement. The Project Controls Specialist Progress Measurement shall ensure alignment of earned value progress to schedule and cost forecasting, including analysis of quantities, hours and other key performance metrics across the Hermosa Taylor project. In execution of these tasks, the Project Controls Specialist Progress Measurement will liaise with the Project Controls Team, Construction Management team and maintain ongoing direct interface with relevant engineering, procurement and construction Contractors. This position will be based out of the Tucson, AZ office.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
  • Consolidation, Analysis, Reconciliation:
    • Gather and maintain all engineering and construction progress reporting on the Hermosa Taylor scope
    • Maintain up-to-date project performance statistics, integrating Owner and multiple Contractor's data into a single data source aligned to schedule and cost forecast, ensuring alignment between plan, actual and forecast detail across all active work fronts
    • Conduct and produce detailed variance analysis of hours, quantities, and other KPI metrics
  • Forecasting & Change Management
    • Identify and inform of potential performance risks impacting cost and schedule
    • Support change management processes by compiling key quantity data and performance statistics
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Generate and maintain accurate weekly and monthly progress reporting
    • Produce progress and KPI related presentation material
  • Compliance & Process Improvement:
    • Review and verify contractor progress reporting to Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies
    • Drive Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology best practices
    • Continuously enhance progress reporting and forecasting methodologies, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and predictability in project control

ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance, Construction, Technology, Engineering or related field
  • Certification from AACE or PMI or another relevant professional body considered an asset
  • Minimum of five (5) years of construction or mining industry schedule experience
  • Experience in sustainable project control including schedule, planning, cost management, progress measurement and change management processes
  • Capital project experience including EPCM, Construction and/or Owner side
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Prism G2 cost software and Primavera P6 schedule software experience preferred
  • Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
  • Strong English language written and oral communication skills
  • Effective communication with other departments and leadership
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintain composure, set priorities, and work with a project team
