Summary of the position:
As a leader of the Hitachi Global Air Power (HGAP) Midland Operations team, the Plant Operations Supervisor will lead a group of Plant Maintenance Technicians. This position will drive, execute, and oversee the daily plant operations and ensure timely completion of maintenance work orders, system repairs and downtime mitigation. This role will develop new standardized processes to ensure equipment's uptime and reliability. This position will assist the Plant Manager in materials and equipment sourcing, purchase requisitions, and resource scheduling. Position reports directly to the Plant Manager of the Midland Operations team.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Manage daily maintenance work order completion, including assistance in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Lead a team of plant maintenance technicians through all related service and plant operations issues.
  • Follow standard work for pre- and post-service preparation (work order generation, resource management & scheduling, expense tracking & reporting, etc.)
  • Working as a leader of the plant operations team, meeting with the customer as appropriate, and communicating customer feedback to HGAP management as Voice of Customer.
  • Interview, hire, train, and develop skills of new plant operations technicians as required.
  • Prioritize, distribute, and lead plant operations assignments between plant operations technicians.
  • Perform Annual performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Follow all Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Support afterhours On-Call rotation and respond to plant emergencies in accordance with contractual requirements & customer timelines.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree a plus
  • Technical Trade School a plus

Professional experience:
  • 5+ years of technical troubleshooting Air Compressor experience.
  • 5+ years of proven leadership experience with the demonstrated ability to manage others.
  • Technical service support and plant operations experience is required.
  • Experience with industrial product manufacturing and engineering processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to engage and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong grasp of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and other technical documents.
