Job Summary and Qualifications
  • The Director of Facilities, reporting to the COO/Associate Administrator, manages and maintains buildings, grounds, utilities, and non-clinical equipment for Research Medical Center, Research Medical Center Brookside, Research Psychiatric and Belton Regional Medical Center campus.
  • The Director facilitates initiation and completion of construction projects, and oversees contract providers of clinical equipment management.
  • Plans, coordinates, directs, and provides effective leadership for all Plant Operations.
What qualifications you will need:
  • ​​Education: Bachelor’s degree, BSME, BSEE, Business, Security Management, Industrial Safety, Administration of Justice or related field. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, an associate degree in related field with ten years plant operations management experience, and healthcare safety. 
  • Licensure/Certifications: Current drivers license, Class “A” Operating Engineers license preferred. 
  • Experience: A minimum of ten years (10) experience in hospital operations and construction required. 
  • Experience in healthcare safety and security required. 
  • Must have experience with regulatory compliance, conducting life safety and environmental care plans and leading a hospital in a Joint Commission survey in these areas.
  • Union experience preferred. 
  • Management Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years in administrative positions. 
  • Administrative Skills: Requires excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to deal with multiple agendas on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Research Medical Center is a 585+ bed hospital. Our hospital offers an array of medical and health clinic services. This includes women's services offering obstetrics and fertility, an emergency room, and a trauma center. We offer a Stroke Center, a walk-in clinic, and orthopedics across three Kansas City locations. Our specialty care areas include a Chest Pain Center, Level I Trauma Center, Breast Care Center, Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Programs, and Primary Stroke Center. Research Psychiatric Center is a 95+ bed facility. We offer acute inpatient, day treatment, and community-based outpatient behavioral healthcare. We treat adolescents, adults, and senior adults for emotional disorders, mental illness, and substance abuse.
