Job description

Position Summary:
Maintenance Director is responsible for oversight of the facility’s public utilities, security and safety systems, HVAC system, physical plant operations, ground up-keep amp; landscaping and other facility projects. The director will work in conjunction with the Housekeeping Supervisor for maintenance of the building. The director also serves as the safety director and is responsible for emergency preparedness and response. This individual is responsible for ensuring compliance with State and Federal Regulations for Long-Term Care, OHSA guidelines, and pertinent healthcare building codes and accreditation standards. In addition, this person oversees all construction projects and any work performed by outside contractors, while assuring that all work performed meets fire and safety codes. This individual will also serve as a supervisor for the maintenance assistant.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be agreeable to occasional travel assignments
Must have basic carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical skills.
Long-term care experience is preferred. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
