WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Operational Risk Governance team is undertaking multiple complex enterprise-wide initiatives as part of RBC's ongoing plan to improve risk management controls and governance framework across the organization. In this role you will be responsible for strategically planning and managing successful implementation of risk mitigation strategies and compliance oversight.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

The role will coordinate, develop, lead, communicate and execute activities to ensure operational risk objectives are accomplished on time, including:

  • Risk Assessment & Monitoring: Designing and implementing frameworks to identify, assess, and monitor operational risks across business units
  • Control Framework Development: Establishing and maintaining robust internal controls aligned with regulatory requirements and RBC's risk appetite
  • Governance Execution: Leading cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to operational risk policies and procedures
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring alignment with banking regulations (OSFI, FINTRAC, etc.) and internal governance standards
  • Incident Management: Coordinating response protocols and remediation strategies for operational risk events
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicating risk insights and governance updates to senior management and business leaders

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must haves:

Must Deep Understanding of Regulatory & Compliance Framework

  • Comprehensive knowledge of banking regulations (OSFI, FINTRAC, Basel III, etc.) and ability to translate requirements into actionable governance policies
  • Familiarity with RBC's risk appetite statement and how to operationalize it across the organization
