Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Director to lead our government agency's technology operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT systems and operations, with a focus on network security, wireless technology, and software as a service (SaaS) solutions. The IT Director will be responsible for managing and directing all IT functions, including network administration, system administration, and IT support. This role will also be responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, and the implementation of new IT systems and policies.

Responsibilities:
  • 1. Oversee the operation and management of all IT infrastructure including AWS, network security, wireless technology, firewall, and UPS Power.
  • 2. Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of our systems, including the use of ArcGIS, Genetec, and other relevant software.
  • 3. Lead the implementation and management of SaaS solutions and virtualization technologies.
  • 4. Manage the procurement, inventory, and disposal of hardware and software, including laptops and other devices.
  • 5. Coordinate and manage the agency's use of fiber optic technology and other high-speed data transmission systems.
  • 6. Direct the agency's disaster recovery strategy and ensure compliance with CEMP and NIMS guidelines.
  • 7. Lead the agency's mOur Clientle device management (MDM) strategy, ensuring secure and efficient use of mOur Clientle devices.
  • 8. Provide leadership and direction to the IT team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
  • 9. Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and alignment with agency goals and objectives.
  • 10. Stay abreast of the latest developments in IT technology and government regulations, ensuring the agency's IT systems are up-to-date and compliant.
  • 11. Someone who can evolve the entire IT stack
  • 12. Plans and directs a comprehensive and integrated information technology program involving operational support of mOur Clientle devices, desktops, laptops, systems, fiber networks, wireless networks, cybersecurity, SaaS, software development, GIS.
  • 13. Work with city staff to develop and maintain Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) for the City based upon National Incident Management System (NIMS) standards. May be required to respond in an emergency at any time.
  • 14. Familiarity with wireless PTP, UPS power systems, cooling, generators, and equipment lifecycles
  • 15. Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Microsoft, Genetec, ArcGIS, and AWS platforms
  • 16. Aware of FAA regulations for drone operations
