CLASSIFICATION: Work Study
DEPARTMENT: Campus Store
REPORTS TO: Director of Campus Store
LENGTH: Fall and Spring
LOCATION: Trenton, Missouri-Main Campus


Position Summary: The work study student assists in the daily operations of the bookstore to ensure customer needs are met.


Essential Functions: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to

Assist customers with questions and product selection.

Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. in order to move furniture, books, and supplies.

Stock, price, and arrange store items.

Perform general custodial work in the bookstore-dusting, vacuuming, etc.

Be able to use a calculator and computer.

Count and record shipments of clothing, books, etc.

Record incoming shipments of college packages.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications: 

Skills:  Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with others. Strong computer skills and social networking knowledge. Work with design software is preferred but not required. This student must have customer service skills and be able to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor. 


Physical Demands: Moving about between buildings on the NCMC campus; ascending and descending stairs; reaching, pulling, and pushing when filing-; able to do repetitive tasks; remain stationary at a desk for extended periods of time while typing


Environmental Demands: Fluctuations while walking on tile and carpeted floors in a heated and air conditioned environment.
