Job Title: Director of Test Engineering
Location: El Segundo, CA (Onsite)
Type: Full-Time
Role Summary:
Lead and manage test engineering for reactor systems, including designing test setups, executing test programs, building infrastructure, and delivering high-quality data to support engineering and regulatory decisions. This is a hands-on leadership role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end test campaigns (developmental, qualification, acceptance)
  • Design and build test setups (bench to complex systems)
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Oversee test execution and supervise teams
  • Build instrumentation & data acquisition systems
  • Implement data management and automation workflows
  • Establish standard testing methods and reusable infrastructure
  • Build and lead a test engineering team
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on test objectives
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years in test engineering, 3+ years in leadership
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical/thermal/fluid test systems
  • Strong expertise in instrumentation and DAQ systems
  • Experience writing detailed test plans and reports
  • Proven ability to establish test processes and lead teams
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field
Preferred:
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or energy sectors
  • Knowledge of testing standards (e.g., MIL-STD)
  • Experience with thermal systems, pressure testing, or turbomachinery
  • Familiarity with FEA/CFD tools
