ABOUT THE ROLE

Ferguson Electric's Director of Safety reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and is directly responsible for managing the safety and risk associated with all projects and company operations. The Director of Safety will proactively plan, direct and implement the Company's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment.  The Director of Safety supports the Project Manager sin ensuring each construction project is conducting operations in a safe manner for the protection of our employees, clients, subcontractors and the general public. The Director of Safety ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, county and local safety related regulations.  The Director of Safety sets the tone for corporate safety and risk management, demonstrates strong leadership skills, works well in a team environment, has excellent communication skills all while strongly upholding and promoting the organization's core values.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Developing, implementing, and managing all company safety policies 
  • Safety management system 
  • Provide and communicate safety goals, objectives & key performance indicators  
  • Manage and maintain company safety records, safety manual/documents and customer portals 
  • Manage and maintain company PPE 
  • Provide project/bid specific safety plans and documents 
  • Oversee and ensure field safety implementation 
  • Oversee the corporate Safety team
  • Inform and connect customer to all services that Ferguson Electric offers  



Requirements

ABOUT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and Experience:
    •  Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required. 
    • 10+ years of occupational health and safety experience, preferably in the construction or electrical contracting industry with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification in Construction Safety is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with safety management software or systems.
    • Basic knowledge of asset management/work order systems or GIS applications is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to engage with employees, subcontractors, and management.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
    • Proactive problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail and accountability.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practices.
    • Ability to conduct field inspections and training sessions in various work environments.
    • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
