Job Description:

The Space Systems Sector within the Space and Mission Systems (SMS) segment is seeking a strategic, results-driven Director of Program Management to help lead key business initiatives and strengthen program execution across the Sector.

This leader will partner closely with the Sector President and serve as the head of the Program Excellence Function, driving improvements in people, processes, and tools to support strong business performance. This is a unique opportunity to shape sector strategy, elevate program excellence, and make a meaningful impact on critical national security missions.

Reporting directly to the President, Space Systems and the Segment Vice President, PMX, this role leads the Program Excellence (PMX) team and works across functions and Division program teams to deliver consistent, scalable, and innovative program management solutions in support of Sector priorities and enterprise initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead sector business initiatives as directed by the Sector President
Lead and develop a high-performing PMX team, including schedulers and planners
Drive Repeatable Program Excellence (RPX) improvement efforts across the Sector
Partner with functional leaders and program teams to improve execution and business outcomes
Serve as the Sector point of contact for program management functional issues
Oversee root cause analysis, corrective actions, mitigation planning, and lessons learned
Track key program metrics, maintain scorecards, and communicate trends to leadership
Coordinate Independent Review Team (IRT) activities and ensure action items are closed
Support standardized tools and processes for programmatic and financial forecasting
Partner with business leaders and Business Development to support execution strategy and long-term growth

Qualifications:

Active Top Secret Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree with 10 years of program management or project/system engineering experience; or a Graduate degree with 8 years of experience; or 15 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
Experience in program management, proposal management, and EVMS
Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams
Strong presentation and communication skills
Proven ability to build, lead, and develop a strong PMX team

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of space and satellite technology, sensors, or optical imaging
Experience leading work across multiple disciplines
Knowledge of EVMS and standard program reporting metrics
Understanding of the DoD, Air Force, Space Force, and Intelligence Communities
Strategic mindset with the ability to manage complexity and focus on priorities
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence without direct authority
