City/State: Nyack, New York Department: Administration_4 Work Shift: Day Work Days: MON-FRI Scheduled Hours: 8 AM-4:30 PM Scheduled Daily Hours: 8 HOURS Hours Per Pay Period: 40 Pay Rate/Range: $155,000-$175,000

Job Specific Competencies
  • Demonstrates the technical/professional knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for the successful operations of the department including, where applicable, age specific competency.
  • Maintains the IC program by reviewing patient/ resident diagnosis, laboratory results and autopsy reports.
  • Evaluates infection surveillance data to determine nosocomial infections, analyzes incidents of nosocomial infection.
  • Consults with nursing staff regarding potentially infectious patients/ residents, antibiotic therapy, isolation policies and patient/ resident placement.
  • Investigates problems of epidemiological nature and reports all communicable diseases to County and State health departments.
  • Acts as a resource to the EHS regarding employee exposure to infectious diseases and health related problems.
Essential Job Qualifications
  • 1. Education: Masterโ€™s degree in health-related field.
  • 2. Experience: Five yearsโ€™ experience in Infection Prevention preferred.
  • 3. Training/Certification: Certification in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).
  • 4. Licensure: Current RN license. NYS RN license upon hire.
  • 5. Other: Advanced knowledge of communicable disease control, knowledge of all regulations and reporting protocol to all State and Federal agencies. Computer proficiency. Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
