Evaluates infection surveillance data to determine nosocomial infections, analyzes incidents of nosocomial infection. Consults with nursing staff regarding potentially infectious patients/ residents, antibiotic therapy, isolation policies and patient/ resident placement. Investigates problems of epidemiological nature and reports all communicable diseases to County and State health departments. Acts as a resource to the EHS regarding employee exposure to infectious diseases and health related problems.**Essential Job Qualifications****1. Education:** Master’s degree in health-related field.**2. Experience:** Five years’ experience in Infection Prevention preferred.**3. Training/Certification:** Certification in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).**4. Licensure:** Current RN license. NYS RN license upon hire.**5. Other:** Advanced knowledge of communicable disease control, knowledge of all regulations and reporting protocol to all State and Federal agencies. Computer proficiency.
