Job description

As a Flight Safety Programs and Analysis Co-op, you will play a key role in supporting Delta's Safety Management System (SMS), a core component of the company's proactive approach to identifying, analyzing, and mitigating safety-of-flight risks. You will be supporting the continuous monitoring of safety-of-flight risks and the development and execution of Flight Operations Safety Risk Assessments that require Flight Safety data sources to be completed. This will involve conducting research, preparing and performing analyses using flight data, pilot reports, fatigue reports, damage or injury data and additional operational and safety data sources as needed. You will become familiar with the environment and experience of various frontline work groups, especially pilots, and you will closely collaborate with partners across Flight Safety, Corporate Safety, and Flight Operations to advance safety initiatives.

Additional responsibilities extend across all Flight Safety programs including: accident and incident investigations, Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA), Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), Pilot Fatigue Risk Management, and Safety Promotion. You may also support and represent Delta Flight Safety at select internal and external safety meetings, helping communicate safety insights and strengthen organizational safety culture.
