What We Are Looking For
The Director of Finance will play a key role in supporting Navien North America's financial planning, business performance management, financial operations and corporate reporting functions. This position will oversee the accounting and tax functions while also serving as functional leader for FP amp;A and Treasury. This position also serves as the primary liaison between our North American operations and our Korean headquarters, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, performance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision support. The individual will oversee the finance function and provide leadership throughout the treasury activities while working closely with the accounting and tax team led by the Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Korean and English and have strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with executives and cross-functional teams across North America and Korea.
Responsibilities:
Financial Planning amp; Analysis (40%)
  • Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning processes
  • Analyze business performance, profitability, revenue trends, margins, and operating expenses
  • Prepare monthly management reports and executive presentations
  • Develop KPIs and performance dashboards for senior leadership
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to management
  • Support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and business cases
Headquarters Reporting amp; Communication (25%)
  • Serve as the primary finance liaison with Headquarters in Korea
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc performance reports for executive management
  • Coordinate management discussions regarding financial results, forecasts, and operational issues
  • Support board-level and executive-level reporting requirements
  • Translate and communicate financial information effectively between Korean and English-speaking stakeholders
Treasury amp; Cash Management (20%)
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
  • Monitor working capital, banking relationships, and financing activities
  • Support foreign exchange risk management and intercompany transactions
  • Optimize cash management processes across North American entities
Finance Leadership amp; Cross-Functional Support (10%)
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Service teams to improve business performance
  • Support internal control initiatives and process improvement projects
  • Assist in implementing finance systems and reporting automation
Oversight of Accounting amp; Tax (5%)
  • Provide overall supervision and leadership to Accounting and Tax functions, which includes hiring, counseling, training, and developing the team
  • Review financial results and key compliance matters
  • Coordinate with the Accounting Manager regarding financial close activities
  • Ensure alignment between FP amp;A, Treasury, Accounting, and Tax functions
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in FP amp;A, corporate finance, treasury, or corporate finance
  • Prior management and development of a finance and/or accounting team
  • Fluent Korean and English (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, consumer products, HVAC, distribution, or related industries preferred
  • Experience working with Korean headquarters or multinational organizations strongly preferred
  • Strong FP amp;A and management accounting capabilities
  • Treasury and cash flow management experience
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling expertise
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools preferred
