What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking an Epidemiologist Data Scientist to support epidemiologic studies, surveillance programs, advanced analytics, and public health data modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will independently conduct analyses, interpret findings, support stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the development of data products that improve public health outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct epidemiologic analyses using surveillance, clinical, claims, laboratory, survey, and other health datasets.

  • Develop analysis plans, statistical methods documentation, analytic specifications, and technical reports.

  • Perform descriptive, longitudinal, trend, multivariable, and other epidemiologic analyses.

  • Translate complex findings into actionable insights for technical, operational, and executive audiences.

  • Design and validate data quality rules, surveillance indicators, and performance measures.

  • Develop dashboards, visualizations, and recurring data products using modern analytics tools.

  • Support modernization and automation of analytic workflows and reporting processes.

  • Contribute to scientific manuscripts, abstracts, reports, presentations, and dissemination products.

  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

  • Mentor junior staff and support quality review of epidemiologic deliverables.

  • Role is contingent upon contract award


What You Will Need:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident and Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DHS "PUBLIC TRUST

  • Bachelor's degree AND FIVE (5) or more years of experience in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Health Data Science, or related discipline., OR MPH/MS AND THREE (3) or more years of experience in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Health Data Science, or related discipline.

  • Experience conducting epidemiologic analyses on large-scale public health or healthcare datasets.

  • Experience in SAS, R, Python, SQL, or comparable analytical tools.

  • Experience interpreting and communicating epidemiologic findings to diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting surveillance, research, evaluation, or public health reporting initiatives.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience supporting federal health agencies or large public health organizations.

  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.

  • Experience with HIV surveillance processes and data

  • Experience working with state public health agencies

  • Experience with survey data, weighting methodologies, causal inference, or advanced statistical methods.

  • Experience using Databricks, Snowflake, Palantir Foundry, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.

  • Experience with machine learning, predictive modeling, or AI-enabled analytics.

  • Experience leading analytic workstreams or supervising junior analysts.

  • Publication history in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Experience supporting data modernization, interoperability, or health information exchange initiatives.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$133,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
