Job description

Position Overview OSAAVA Services is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to support the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of cybersecurity controls for classified and mission-critical information systems within Department of Defense environments. This role focuses on protecting system confidentiality, integrity, and availability through security monitoring, vulnerability management, and compliance support activities aligned with DoD cybersecurity requirements and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes. The selected candidate will work closely with engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity teams to ensure systems remain secure, compliant, and operationally ready within classified environments. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting cybersecurity operations within DoD programs, with a strong understanding of RMF implementation, vulnerability management, and security compliance activities. Key Responsibilities • Monitor system security posture and support continuous monitoring activities
• Identify, analyze, and remediate system vulnerabilities and security findings
• Assist with implementation and validation of security controls
• Support RMF documentation, evidence collection, and artifact management
• Perform security scans and analyze results for compliance and risk
• Track security findings and remediation actions through closure
• Assist with development and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs)
• Support preparation for cybersecurity audits, inspections, CCRIs, and SAVs
• Coordinate with system administrators and engineers to implement security controls
• Support incident response activities and security impact assessments
• Maintain accurate security documentation, reporting, and artifact repositories
• Provide cybersecurity support for Authorization to Operate (ATO) and ATO renewal activities
• Ensure systems remain compliant with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards Required Qualifications • Experience supporting cybersecurity operations within DoD or classified environments
• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and security control implementation
• Experience with vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking, and compliance monitoring
• Familiarity with security tools and system monitoring solutions
• Strong documentation, artifact management, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage security compliance evidence and reporting requirements
• Strong communication and coordination skills across technical teams
• Ability to operate effectively in mission-critical classified environments Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting NC3, DRSN, or STRATCOM-aligned systems
• Prior experience supporting CCRI or SAV cybersecurity inspections
• Familiarity with classified system compliance requirements
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, or equivalent
• Experience maintaining audit-ready RMF documentation
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards
