As a Director of Clinical Operations, You will:ย 

  • Oversees all patient care services provided by the hospice team.ย 
  • Supports and advises nursing supervisors to help improve patient care.ย 
  • Assists with patient care planning and evaluation as needed.ย 
  • Helps prepare and manage the hospice's budget.ย 
  • Monitors patient volume to adjust staffing and resources accordingly.ย 
  • Evaluates the performance of nursing supervisors and helps them evaluate their teams.ย 
  • Hires, evaluates, and, when necessary, terminates staff.ย 
  • Conducts regular performance reviews for clinical staff.ย 
  • Ensures patient records are accurate and meet legal requirements.ย 
  • Manages supplies and equipment needed for patient care.ย 
  • Develops and oversees training programs for new staff.ย 
  • Plans ongoing education and training.ย 
  • Monitors and improves the quality and safety of hospice services.ย 
  • Helps set goals and create policies for the organization.ย 
  • Ensures the hospice complies with all laws and certification standards.ย 
  • Keeps up with changes in hospice care and shares updates with the team.ย 
  • Promotes hospice services within the healthcare community.ย 
  • Serves as acting Executive Director when the main director is unavailable.ย

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program by the National League for Nursing. Master's degree in hospice preferred.ย 
  • Three years of management experience in a hospice or related health care organizationย 
  • Registered nurse in the State with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State.ย 
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or Organization requirements and is in good working order.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.ย 
  • Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community.ย 
  • Has excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.ย 
  • Knowledge of business management, governmental regulations and CHAP standards.ย
