Job Description
Mission Technologies is searching for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Fort Belvoir, VA. HII's Mission Technologies division is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that advance national security and defense objectives.
This role is part of a current proposal scheduled to start in 2026.
Salary range based on backgrond, skills, experience and education.
Network Engineer 3 : $ 102,160-189,725
Network Engineer 4 : $ 118,590- $220,238
Essential Job Responsibilities
Responsible for architecting and supporting the modernization, expansion, enhancement, and upgrades across US Army IT infrastructure, IT systems, IT support systems, and communications systems. Will analyze site survey reports, recommend network modernization upgrades, craft network architectures, and assist operations leads in creating deployment plans and executing capability roll outs. The job requires direct interaction with US Army, DoD, and other USG personnel including briefing technical plans and adjusting architecture requirements to fit US Army acquisition and supply chain requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, economics, computer science, engineering, or relevant degree. Additional 4+ years of relevant experience allowed in lieu of degree allowed
  • 8+ years relevant project management experience
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Active SECRET clearance
  • Willingness to pursue TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Project Manager(s) are expected to be available onsite at B/P/C/S during active project(s)
  • On-site work at Ft Belvoir, VA during normal business hours.
  • Up to 25% travel expected to US Army CONUS sites during deployment phases

Preferred Requirements
  • Active or prior TOP SECRET/SCI clearance
  • Willingness to deploy to USG sites for 2-4 weeks at a time
  • Holds advanced professional networking certifications, such as CCNP, CCIE, or industry equivalent.
  • Familiarity and application of architectural frameworks commonly used in Government agencies, such as DoDAF, TOGAF, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, communication, planning, presentation, and organizational skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences, internal teams, senior leaders, vendors, partners, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating current-state network architectures and identifying effective, secure, scalable solutions that optimize operations.
  • Designing solutions and developing supporting documentation, including plans, diagrams, specifications, topologies, and configurations for the current and target-state technology stacks.
  • Providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle and reach-back SME support when unforeseen obstacles and complex issues arise.
  • Developing technical presentations, reviewing engineering proposals and change requests, and providing guidance/recommendations during technical engineering and review board meetings.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust principles, concepts, methodologies, and approaches as laid out in CISA's Zero Trust Maturity Model and NIST SP 800-27 Zero Trust Architecture.
  • Developing and implementing industry best business practices through standards guidelines, processes, and procedures that align with Federal, DoD, and U.S. Army policies and regulations.
