Job Description:
Data is the lifeblood of Cotality's business. While many organizations relegate data governance to a back-office compliance and documentation exercise, Cotality views data governance as a primary catalyst for growth, innovation, and competitive advantage.
As the Senior Director of Enterprise Data & Model Governance, you will be the strategic leader responsible for operationalizing and scaling our global data governance framework. Reporting to the Chief Data & Analytics Officer, you will lead the execution of our enterprise data strategy, transforming our vast data ecosystem to solidify our position as a premium information services and technology pioneer. If you are a pragmatic, business-minded leader who can translate complex data ecosystems into highly monetizable, trustworthy, and scalable assets, this impactful role is for you.
Strategic Mandate & Responsibilities:
Operationalizing Strategy & Enterprise Transformation
  • Execute the Global Vision: Translate Cotality's overarching data strategy into a comprehensive, multi-year Enterprise Data & Model Governance roadmap aligned with commercial growth objectives.

  • Drive Business Growth: Shift the perception of data & model governance from a risk-mitigation function to a value-creation engine, ensuring data quality and curation directly accelerate business development and product commercialization. It is vital that Cotality abides by all pertinent federal and state regulations and contractual obligations with our clients. Indeed it's a differentiator for us.

  • Stakeholder Alignment & Collaboration: Partner closely with business unit leaders and executive stakeholders to identify critical data needs, aligning governance priorities with business-line KPIs and demonstrating measurable ROI on data initiatives.

  • Manage the Governance Ecosystem: Lead and optimize the Enterprise Data Governance Council cadence. Prepare and deliver data-driven insights and maturity metrics for executive committees and senior leadership.

Data Architecture, Quality & Supply Chain Integrity
  • Data Asset Optimization: Implement and enforce global standards for Master Data Management (MDM), trusted data models, and big data platforms, ensuring end-to-end data integrity across the corporate supply chain.

  • Advanced Curation & AI Enablement: Operationalize the logic for derived, reference, and inferred data techniques. Partner with Advanced Analytics and AI/ML teams to maintain robust model review frameworks and facilitate ethical data commercialization.

  • Drive a Self-Service Culture: Establish clear accountability for data documentation. Lead the enterprise-wide transition to a self-service data marketplace by ensuring data dictionaries and catalogs are comprehensively tagged, searchable, and accessible.

Enterprise Risk, Ethics & Policy Enforcement
  • Modern Risk Management: Collaborate with Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance teams to operationalize responses to emerging global data regulations, permissible use frameworks, and data privacy policies.

  • Data Intelligence Technology: Serve as the programmatic owner and champion for the adoption, maturity, and automation of the Collibra Data Governance Platform and associated business process workflows.

People & Culture Leadership
  • Build a High-Performing Team: Lead, mentor, and develop a centralized team of data governance experts and content specialists, while simultaneously cultivating a highly matrixed network of data stewards across global business lines.

  • Evangelize Data Literacy: Foster an organizational culture that views data as a vital strategic asset, driving data literacy programs and awareness across the enterprise.

Job Qualifications:
  • Progressive Leadership Experience: 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Enterprise Data Strategy, with at least 3-5 years in a formal Director or senior management capacity within a data-intensive industry (e.g., FinTech, PropTech, Information Services).

  • Business Acumen: A proven track record of linking data governance execution directly to revenue generation, product launch success, or operational efficiencies.

  • Change Management Mastery: Demonstrated ability to drive cultural shifts in large, complex organizations, successfully moving teams from fragmented data silos to unified, governed data ecosystems.

  • Technical Credibility: Deep familiarity with modern data architectures, cloud big data platforms, AI/ML data requirements, and enterprise governance platforms (specifically Collibra).
