Job description

Overview

Titan Florida, LLC has an immediate opening for a Repairman A for Titan Florida, LLC Pennsuco Aggregates Division in Medley, FL.  This wage non-exempt position is a high-skilled position requiring the ability to perform repair and maintenance of mineral processing equipment. General supervision is received from an immediate leadman and supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all required safety checks and follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain and repair conveyor belts, pulleys, bearings, sand and fresh water pipes.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs on mineral processing plant equipment.
  • Maintain records of work performed.
  • Maintain exterior, interior shop and work area cleanliness according to company policy and industrial waste handling procedures.
  • Inspect work in progress to see that steel repair and replacement is properly carried out and that units are satisfactory assembled.
  • Maintain shop equipment and acquire parts and tools as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections on mineral processing plant equipment.
  • Reading and working with blueprints.
  • Remove and install pulleys, bearings, conveyors, drive belts, pumps, speed reducers, make adjustments, and repairs to mineral processing equipment as required.
  • Perform skilled repair work on vibrating screens and feeders (springs and gears).
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections on mineral processing plant equipment.
  • Prepare parts lists from digital or printed part manuals.
  • Perform utility tasks such as shoveling, water hosing, and others when required.
  • Perform safety inspections and actively participate in the safety committees.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED supplemented by technical or vocational maintenance training.
  • At least 3 year of experience in steel fabrication and/or equipment repair.
  • Ability to perform classroom training to all levels of repairmen.  
  • Positive attitude to achieve goals and deliver results individually and in teams.
  • Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally: and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently: and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must possess the visual acuity to perform close inspection of moving and small parts, use of measurement devices
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions sufficient to carry out repair orders and understand maintenance records and equipment specifications.
  • Ability to maintain basic records for repair work done.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and of related safety practices.
  • Safety-minded.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Ability to understand and follow the oral and written instructions to carry out sufficient repair orders.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics.
  • Ability to weld pipes and steel.
  • Thorough knowledge of the operating and repair characteristics of a variety of fixed mineral processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices used to diagnose equipment problems (by use of computerized test equipment where applicable).
  • Ability to interpret technical service manuals.
  • Ability to operate personal computer and knowledge of basic computer applications, including computer generated parts and service manuals.
  • Must be able to enter and retrieve data from a computer.
  • Must be able to operate mobile cranes (certification is required, Titan will offer certification upon satisfactory completion of training).
  • Ability to direct, supervise, and train personnel.
  • Ability to weld and fabricate from blue prints.
  • Maintain a current Florida Driver's License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Capable of working in confined spaces.
  • Able to walk, kneel crouch, crawl, talk and hear.

Shift:

Must be able to work day shifts, night shifts, weekends and overtime as necessary.
