Job description

Position: Sales Support Engineer

Supervisor: Director of Global Accounts

Location: Libertyville, IL

Description: We are seeking a highly motivated Chemical Engineer (or related technical degree) with 5 or more years of water industry experience to join our Global Accounts Team. This position focuses on applications (including disruptive technologies), process design, engineering documentation, and financial analysis while utilizing AI development and software integration for process improvements. The ideal candidate brings positive energy, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment, and is seeking a structured pathway to grow into a future Sales Engineer role.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform process engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and technical evaluations for industrial and data center water treatment systems.
  • Develop and maintain engineering bid documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, BOMs, specifications, commissioning procedures, and customer submittals.
  • Support proposal development through cost estimating, value engineering, technical writeups, RFIs, and bid-response activities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities between sales, engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure timely completion of proposals and project deliverables.
  • Utilize Microsoft Project and related tools to track schedules, milestones, action items, risks, and project handoffs while maintaining strong organizational discipline.
  • Participate in customer meetings, site visits, pilot tests, startup activities, and continuous improvement initiatives, including AI-enabled tools and workflow optimization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Requirements:

  • Education & Background: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience & Technical Skills: 5–10 years of industry-specific experience in project management, water treatment, process design, or industrial engineering, with a strong foundation in process modeling, hydraulics, and engineering fundamentals; experience with CAD, Aspen, MATLAB, Python, or AI tools is a plus.
  • Professional Capabilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communicator, collaborative team player, high energy and proactive mindset, strong work ethic, and integrity.
  • Other Requirements: This role typically requires four (4) days per week on-site, in addition to occasional customer visits. Ability to travel up to 25% required.
