Overview

ShiftsAvailable:Nights($3 to $5per hourdiffin pay)

Employment Type:Full-time

Hours:12-hour shifts - 6:30pm to 7:00am

Location:Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS

We are seeking aCertifiedRespiratory Therapist,alsoreferred to as ourRespiratory Care PractitionerI (RCP I).The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is someone whocarries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population, in the absence of a supervisor.

Responsibilities

If you are aRegisteredRespiratory Therapist (RRT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)youare encouraged to apply for this position!

  • Willprovide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily
  • Conduct tests like pulmonary function testsandarterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients
  • Set up,monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently
  • May bepart ofarapid response team in emergencies,which you willprovideairway management, perform intubations, and resuscitatepatients in critical situations
  • Assess patients' respiratory status,monitortheir progress, andmake adjustments totreatment plans as needed
  • Ensure that all respiratory equipment isproperly cleaned, sterilized, andmaintainedto prevent infections and ensure patient safety
Qualifications
  • Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
  • Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. Hired before March 2026,are exempt
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Two (2) years of acute care experience required
