At Quanta Power Solutions, we are driven by a culture of safety, integrity, and disciplined execution — and we're building a team that shares that commitment.

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant to support large-scale EPC and infrastructure projects across the power generation sector. This role provides advanced financial oversight, project accounting leadership, and strategic support for complex, multi-million-dollar construction and engineering programs.

The Senior Project Accountant will serve as a key financial partner to Project Management, Project Controls, and executive leadership, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong cost control, and compliance across all active EPC projects.

Project Financial Leadership

  • Lead project accounting activities across multiple complex EPC projects from initiation through closeout

  • Oversee project financial performance, including costs, revenue recognition, billing, and commitments

  • Ensure accuracy of monthly close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting

  • Provide financial guidance to project teams on contract structure and accounting implications

Advanced Cost & Billing Oversight

  • Review and approve complex client billing applications and project invoices

  • Manage progress billing, retainage, change orders, and contract-specific financial requirements

  • Partner with Project Controls to validate cost reporting, forecasting, and earned value data

  • Resolve high-level billing disputes and subcontractor financial discrepancies

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform advanced variance analysis, forecasting, and project performance reporting

  • Identify financial risks, margin impacts, and cost overruns across active projects

  • Prepare executive-level financial summaries and project performance dashboards

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data within ERP and accounting systems

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and contractual obligations

  • Support internal and external audits, including documentation preparation and issue resolution

  • Maintain strong financial controls and enforce proper cost coding and allocation structures

  • Identify and implement process improvements within project accounting workflows

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a senior liaison between accounting, operations, project management, and procurement teams

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Accountant I–III staff

  • Support training efforts and development of junior accounting personnel

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project accounting and finance functions

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7–12+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably in EPC, construction, or industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting and revenue recognition principles
  • Experience with project cost controls, WIP reporting, and financial forecasting
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modeling capabilities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and operational teams
  • Ability to manage multiple high-value projects in a fast-paced environment
