Job description

Position Overview: This position is weekdays only, flexible 36-40 hours/week. The Infection Prevention Nurse will be responsible for preventing and controlling the spread of infectious diseases in our healthcare facility. This includes developing and implementing infection control policies and procedures, conducting surveillance activities, and educating staff and patients on infection control practices. The Infection Prevention Nurse will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that high standards of infection prevention and control are maintained and that any risks to the safety and wellbeing of patients and staff are minimized. Also assists in the operations and functions of Employee Health.

Schedule: Full Time - Monday-Friday

Pre-employment Requirements:

  • We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Education Requirements:

  • Current Alabama Nursing License

Job Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in Infection Prevention and Control is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of infection control principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to engage in logical, critical thinking to solve problems.
  • Proficient in the use of computer software programs.
