Registered Nurse Emergency Department

Location:ย Wrangell, Alaska
Pay Rate:ย $77.00 to $80.00/hr
Contract:ย 13 Weeks
Experience:ย Emergency nursing experience preferred

About the Role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract opportunity in Wrangell, Alaska. This role supports Emergency Department and ambulatory care services and requires strong clinical judgment, emergency response skills, and the ability to provide safe, patient-centered care across all age groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to emergency and ambulatory care patients.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs.

  • Respond calmly and effectively in urgent and emergent situations.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions as ordered.

  • Monitor patient condition and identify changes requiring immediate action.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams.

  • Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and emotional support.

  • Document patient care accurately using Cerner.

  • Support safe care delivery, infection control, and facility protocols.

Requirements

  • Active Alaska Registered Nurse license required.

  • BLS certification required.

  • PALS certification required upon hire.

  • ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

  • Emergency Room or ambulatory care experience preferred.

  • Cerner experience preferred.

  • Must have flu vaccination.

  • Two fingerprint cards must be submitted immediately upon acceptance.

  • Traveler must live at least 50 miles from the facility.

  • Holiday coverage required.

  • Strong assessment, communication, critical thinking, and emergency response skills required.
