Job Description
Title: Clinical Laboratory - Blood Bank
Schedule:
- Night shift: 4 x 10 hours (Start time 21:30, may flex to 20:00 as needed)
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- Holiday commitment: Must commit to working 3 of these 5 - Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years laboratory experience
- Recent/current seasoned travel blood bank experience required (within the last 2 years)
- EPIC experience is required
- Trauma Level I experience required; teaching hospital preferred
- Experience in a large hospital (300+ beds) is required
- Required certification: ASCP-BB (or equivalent)
- Preferred: Clinical Immunohematology/Immunohemistry certification
- Key clinical skills: High-volume Type & Screen and crossmatch, ABO/Rh, antibody screen/ID, AHG crossmatch, Direct antiglobulin test (DAT), transfusion reaction workup, component modification, thawing/cooling of blood products, specimen receipt/labeling/transport and quality control, experience with blood bank software and automation (Wellsky, Immucor preferred)
Compliance / Notes:
- Compact license must be in hand at submission
- 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years (can include Charge RNs/Lead)
- Facility does not accept certain background checks
- Include daytime Pacific Time interview availability with submission
- Must disclose prior employment, if applicable
- Limited RTO allowed; scheduling requests due at submission
- Must commit to working required holidays
