Job description

Salary range: $25.00 to $29.00/hour DOE
Schedule: M-F, 7.5 hours/day

The HR Assistant supports a positive team member experience by providing administrative and operational support across key HR functions, including payroll, benefits, HRIS, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, safety, training, and special projects. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, service-focused, and enjoys supporting people and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employment records, including personnel files, benefits documentation, licensure records, and compliance materials.
  • Support benefits administration, enrollment, and team member questions related to health, retirement, and other benefit plans.
  • Coordinate new hire, onboarding, and termination processes, including offer letters, fingerprinting, pre-employment requirements, documentation, and file audits.
  • Assist with recruitment, New Hire Orientation, and activities that help create a smooth candidate and team member experience.
  • Support leave administration, workers’ compensation, OSHA recordkeeping, injury reporting, and related follow-up.
  • Track key HR processes, including annual requirements, performance evaluations, training, and compliance deadlines.
  • Assist with payroll review, manual check requests, paycheck distribution, and other payroll-related support as needed.
  • Provide administrative support for employee relations matters, including disciplinary documentation and tracking.
  • Help plan recognition activities, maintain HR communications, and provide courteous service to team members, residents, vendors, and visitors.
  • Promote the rights, dignity, and respect of each resident and team member.
  • Support the Director of Human Resources with special projects, daily HR needs, coverage as needed, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Three to five years of office or administrative experience, including at least two years in Human Resources.
  • Experience with recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee information management.
  • Familiarity with applicable state and federal labor laws.
  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, follow-through, and customer service skills.
