Job Summary

We are seeking a driven and innovative Digital Manufacturing System Engineer to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Duties and responsibilities

  • Develops manufacturing processes that conform with MES system with the primary focus being operator safety by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and MES capabilities in a high-tech, data-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing robust digital manufacturing processes through application of MES system POK a yoke solutions to avoid quality issues, and where necessary, designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes to drive world-class quality and operational excellence.
  • Manages project related activities in a transparent way for new programs or changes to existing programs, including but not limited to timing, budgets, design details, team coordination, quotations, and vendor procurement coordination, supporting cross-functional collaboration and successful project delivery.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Supports manufacturing to achieve safety, quality, and productivity targets through digital process design, optimization projects, and Kaizen initiatives in a continuous improvement-focused culture.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations and upholding the highest standards of compliance and integrity.
  • Facilitates with Manufacturing Engineering on the setup and maintenance initiatives for new improvements to the MES system following established procedures, contributing to advanced manufacturing system enhancements.
  • Maintains product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data, supporting system reliability, accuracy, and digital integration.
  • Completes implementation of new or revised processes by training operators, Engineering, and support groups, enabling successful adoption and workforce capability development.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies to stay aligned with the industry and emerging technologies.
  • Contributes to team effort by supporting other team members as capacity issues arise in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Supports end-user requests related to ERP / MES system changes and coordinates within IT framework to ensure effective use of current IT systems, delivering strong user support and system optimization.
  • Maps and analyzes end-to-end business processes within third-party and proprietary systems as well as integration within the ERP system to drive process efficiency and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develops test plans, support documentation, and training material for supported systems, ensuring structured implementation and user readiness.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves system issues proactively and provides recommendations to management, customers, and peers, demonstrating problem-solving expertise and proactive system improvement.
  • Provides level 3 user support and supports requirements as well as coordinates the resolution of issues to include change management, root cause analysis, and appropriate escalation as needed, ensuring high-level technical support and system stability.
  • Develops and supports user acceptance testing and coordinates end-user training to ensure smooth system rollouts and user adoption.
  • Assists Project Managers in project timeline definition related to user documentation requirements including review phases, level of effort, and duration of requirements of management activities, supporting effective project planning and execution.
  • Performs special projects as requested and related tasks as needed, contributing to business-critical initiatives and innovation efforts.
  • Reads and interprets performance charts and graphs relating to safety, quality, and productivity to support performance monitoring and improvement strategies.
  • Provides decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, enabling cost optimization and operational efficiency.
  • Manages interdepartmental project activities for changes to existing layouts and processes, including but not limited to timing, budgets, design details, and team coordination, driving end-to-end project ownership and execution.
  • Prepares process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends to support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Engineering in manufacturing equivalent field.
  • Ability to compose, edit and proofread documents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work under critical timelines, re-evaluate priorities and interact in cross- functional teams.
  • Strong aptitude for organization, prioritization and managing multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Manufacturing system analysis, design, and specification.
  • Experience writing Requirement, Functional and System Design Specifications.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work with little to no oversight
  • Experience in AutoCAD, MS Access or SQL
  • Experience Engineering in manufacturing field
  • Support of manufacturing operations experience.
  • Previous ERP experience.
  • SAP Implementation or major ERP application support experience in a manufacturing environment.
    3-5 years Manufacturing Execution System (MES) experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working in the areas of shop floor, MES and/or WMS, production control, purchasing, or planning is preferred.
  • Exhibits leadership ability with a track record of developing people and achieving challenging objectives.
  • Understands and can speak to application development life cycle and methodologies preferred.
