About the Role
The Technical Director, Mining & Geology provides strategic and operational leadership across all mine technical functions, including geology, resource and reserve governance, mine planning, engineering, geotechnical services, and continuous technical improvement. This role partners closely with Operations, Corporate Resource & Reserves Governance, Technical Services, Finance, Health & Safety, and Executive Leadership to maximize mine performance, manage technical risk, and enhance longterm asset value across the Nevada Projects portfolio (Arthur and North Bullfrog).
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Governance
  • Lead and oversee all Mining and Geology technical departments across the Nevada District.
  • Establish and govern technical standards, methodologies, and assurance processes to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance.
  • Provide technical assurance for all mining and geology inputs into project development studies, evaluations, and business decisions.
  • Review and approve key technical, geological, and economic assumptions impacting mine design, sequencing, and project economics.
Resources, Reserves & Mine Planning
  • Direct the full resource and reserve lifecycle, including drilling programs, geological modeling, QA/QC, economic evaluation, and declaration.
  • Govern reconciliation processes between geological models, mine plans, and actual production to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead short, medium, and longrange mine planning activities, including lifeofmine strategy and development sequencing.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate Resource & Reserves Governance frameworks and reporting standards.
Strategic & Business Planning
  • Lead the annual business planning cycle for both projects, including operating cost models, capital requirements, and budget development.
  • Work with project teams to create integrated schedules and manage technical work programs to meet key milestones.
  • Leverage global technical and strategic planning initiatives to improve mine planning methods and outputs.
People, Safety & Performance
  • Build, develop, and lead highperforming geology and mining teams with a strong focus on technical capability ("discipline health").
  • Champion a culture of safety, technical rigor, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure drilling, sampling, and data management programs meet corporate QA/QC, safety, and compliance standards.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with Environmental, Health & Safety, Global Technical Groups, Operations, and corporate functions to ensure integrated execution.
  • Interface with contractors, drilling partners, consultants, and external technical experts.
  • Support regulatory engagement and technical discussions as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline (required).
  • Experience supporting PFS/FS studies and transitioning projects into execution.
  • Eligibility to act as, or support, a Qualified Person (QP) under applicable reporting standards is an asset.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience leading mining and/or geology teams.
  • Strong expertise in resource modeling, grade control, reconciliation, and lifeofmine planning.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership within complex project and operational environments.
  • Proven experience leading teams, shaping culture, and driving performance.
  • Deep understanding of mine planning workflows, systems, and software.
  • Ability to translate geological uncertainty into operational risk and practical mitigation plans.
  • Strong capability in directing geological modeling teams and technical assurance processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mining engineering, scheduling, and development sequencing.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Able to influence, engage, and build trusted relationships across executive, technical, and operational teams.
  • Demonstrated people leadership with a focus on capability building, accountability, and results.
  • Valid driver's license required; regular travel to project and mine sites expected.
