Job description

Controller & Director of Finance

A growing, venture-backed in Western Alabama is looking for a Director of Finance and Administration to lead finance, accounting and administration functions of the company’s Alabama region. The Director of Finance & Administration will report to the General Manager/President and work closely (dotted line) with the Corporate CFO. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and community-driven to take on this exciting role as a key financial and operations leader.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Maintain the finance, accounting and administrative functions of regional office
  • Maintain appropriate financial controls and policies and procedures
  • Perform regional month-end close/accounting/bookkeeping tasks as required
  • Manage project cash and cash use including issuing payments, invoicing, managing drawdowns of shareholder cash to fund construction costs, etc.
  • Review/optimize short, medium- and long-term capital needs and related financing arrangements
  • Prepare all financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets and reports to shareholders and lenders, as applicable
  • Prepare and present budgets and reports for the Board and analyze discrepancies between actual and projected figures and suggest methods of improving as appropriate
  • Coordinate financing agreement compliance and annual credit rating review with CFO
  • Manage yearly financial audit activities
