Job description

Director, Financial Industry Partnerships Position Description

Who We Are: Financial Beginnings is a national nonprofit that teaches individuals how to play an active role in their financial well-being. Developing this knowledge increases life opportunities such as home ownership, higher education, and secure retirement while contributing to the economic empowerment of individuals, families, and our shared communities.

The mission of Financial Beginnings is to empower youth and adults to take control of their financial futures. FB fulfills this mission by extending programming to more communities via local, on-the-ground teams. These teams, along with their volunteer networks, deliver our financial education programming that is continually tested, revised, and improved to ensure mission alignment and participant impact.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to join a growing national nonprofit at an exciting inflection point. We're expanding our reach and impact across the country, and this role will be instrumental in developing our partnership model with financial institutions nationwide.

Role Summary: Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Partnerships, the Director of Financial Industry Partnerships is a critical revenue-generating role responsible for designing, building, and scaling Financial Beginnings’ service-based partnerships primarily within the financial industry (banking, credit unions). This role owns a portfolio of partners seeking to engage through fee-for-service and value-aligned earned income offerings, including curriculum licensing, educator and volunteer facilitator training, workplace financial wellness programming, volunteer access and engagement, and co-developed education initiatives.

Blending business development with relationship management, the Director will lead strategy and execution for a growing service partnership vertical, with a new and existing business annual revenue goal. Success in this role requires strong consultative selling skills, the ability to translate partner needs into scalable program offerings both regionally and nationally, and a disciplined approach to pipeline management and forecasting.

This is an opportunity to build a national model for how financial institutions engage in meaningful, measurable financial education impact while advancing Financial Beginnings’ growth and sustainability.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Revenue Strategy & Ownership

Own and achieve an annual revenue target through primarily service-based partnerships.

Build and manage a healthy pipeline of prospects and opportunities, maintaining clear forecasting and conversion metrics.

Partnership Development & Business Development

Prospect, qualify, and close new partnerships with financial industry partners seeking financial education and volunteerism service engagement beyond philanthropy.

Lead consultative conversations to understand partner goals (e.g., CRA-qualified volunteer alignment, employee engagement, customer education) and align them with Financial Beginnings’ offerings.

Develop customized proposals and presentations that clearly articulate value, impact, and ROI.

Structure and negotiate partnership agreements, including licensing, training contracts, and multi-year agreements.

Portfolio Management & Partner Stewardship

Manage and grow a portfolio of active financial industry partners, ensuring high retention and year-over-year revenue growth.

Serve as the primary relationship manager for key accounts, maintaining regular communication and strategic alignment.

Volunteerism & Workplace Engagement Strategy

Develop and expand pathways for corporate engagement tied to financial education delivery.

Support partners in integrating Financial Beginnings into their employee engagement and community impact strategies.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure volunteer experiences are high-quality, accessible, and aligned with partner expectations.

Systems, Reporting & Operations

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM (HubSpot) and internal systems (BOX), including pipeline, partner activity, and revenue tracking.

Develop and deliver regular revenue forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance updates.

Ensure all partnership agreements, deliverables, and reporting requirements are documented and fulfilled.

Other General Responsibilities

Build strong internal relationships across teams to ensure alignment, communication, and effective partnership delivery.

Contribute to a culture of collaboration, transparency, and shared accountability.

Stay informed on trends in financial education, workplace financial wellness, and corporate social responsibility.

Represent Financial Beginnings externally in meetings, conferences, and events as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile

5+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, and/or revenue generation (nonprofit or corporate)

Director-level strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capabilities—comfortable both developing strategy and implementing tactics

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets

Strong consultative sales and relationship management skills

Self-starter who can work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Comfortable collaborating online and/or working remotely with internal and external stakeholders
