Job Summary
Responsible for developing the process and Service Delivery Model for general accounting across the enterprise, driving continuous improvement and managing all strategic projects relating to Financial Systems (IT or Financial Transformation & Innovation).
Responsible for the vision and development of the financial data hierarchy to support Accounting, Finance, Tax and Legal teams and to implement and maintain a comprehensive multidimensional financial data structure. Works with the business unit Chief Financial Officers to capture reporting requirements and implements efficient and effective reporting solutions.
Leads team that administers all general ledger systems to ensure correct results and adequate internal controls. Ensures all system changes are in compliance with SOX and internal controls. Supports internal/external audits.
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing the strategy for the Service Delivery Model working with customers enterprise wide and establishing best practices to drive continuous improvement across the general accounting processes.
  • Responsible for developing the vision of financial data hierarchy to support Accounting, Finance, Tax, and Legal teams and for driving all aspects of IT and FT&I (Financial Transformation & Innovation) strategic projects for General Accounting.
  • Partners through collaboration within the Accounting division and Chief Financial Officers to ensure financial reporting requirements are met through the use of efficient and effective reporting solutions.
  • Ensures internal accounting controls are part all system design and hierarchy and through evaluates procedural changes
  • Identifies and recommends process and systems improvement and Service Provider and Accounting Division action plans and leads implementation of approved projects.
  • Creates strategy, implements recommendations and provides oversight of user access/security levels and systems changes according to WAG procedures and policies.
  • Develops system usage training materials for all employees. Trains WAG end users on general ledger systems usage including journal entries, reporting requirements and other related processes. Helps deliver end-user satisfaction with the process
  • Provides integration support and strategy for newly acquired businesses and related accounting processes
  • Develops, monitors, coaches and manages staff ensuring the development of employees through orientation, training, establishing objectives, communication of rules, constructive discipline. Builds employee morale, motivation and loyalty.

External Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 6 years of experience in accounting, finance, business management or audit or a High School Diploma/GED and at least 9 years of experience in accounting, finance, business management or audit.
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial system implementation or strategy design.
  • Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • Experience utilizing reporting tools and implementations, such as Hyperion.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 3 years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.
  • Willing to travel up to 15% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years of experience in accounting, finance, business management or audit or a High School Diploma/GED and at least 11 years of experience in accounting, finance, business management or audit.
  • Master's degree in Accountancy or MBA
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA designation.
  • Experience developing financial data strategy.
  • Experience communicating and presenting to all levels of management.
  • Experience developing a project plan, including charter, scope, project management approach and management plans, such as the statement of work, cost estimates, schedule, etc.
  • At least 4 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expenses and capital budgets.
  • At least 4 years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.
