The opportunity:

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, employee-owned company, is seeking an experienced Reporting and Analytics Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate Analyst will be responsible for the delivery, governance, quality, and continuous improvement of enterprise data, reporting, analytics, and business intelligence capabilities across Dynamics 365 and associated business platforms. The role supports trusted reporting and decision-making through Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, semantic models, data pipelines, governed datasets, and operational dashboards. The position provides post-implementation sustainment support, develops reporting solutions, maintains analytics standards, and works with business stakeholders to translate data needs into practical reporting and insight capabilities.

The successful candidate can be located in any of the following locations, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Markham

What you’ll do:

Data, Reporting and Analytics Solution Delivery:

  • Designs, develops, enhances, and supports Power BI reports, dashboards, scorecards, key performance indicators, paginated reports, and operational reporting solutions.
  • Translates business requirements into reporting specifications, metrics definitions, semantic layer requirements, visualizations, and data models.

Microsoft Fabric and Data Platform Enablement:

  • Develops and supports Microsoft Fabric solutions including Lakehouses, Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, OneLake-enabled assets, and governed semantic models.
  • Builds and maintains data ingestion, transformation, reconciliation, and publishing processes to support trusted enterprise reporting and analytics.

Data Governance, Quality and Security

  • Supports data governance, master data management, data quality, data lineage, data reconciliation, and reporting standards across the reporting portfolio.
  • Defines and maintains common metrics, business definitions, calculation logic, and semantic model standards to promote consistent interpretation of enterprise data.

D365 Sustainment and Continuous Improvement

  • Supports post-implementation sustainment for Dynamics 365 reporting and analytics, including issue resolution, enhancement intake, release testing, report validation, and business-as-usual support.
  • Investigates and resolves reporting and analytics issues escalated through support channels, including data discrepancies, refresh failures, model issues, calculation errors, access concerns, and report performance issues.

Stakeholder Interface and Knowledge Management

  • Acts as a bridge between business stakeholders, Digital Services, application support, data engineering, and reporting consumers.
  • Facilitates requirements discussions, report reviews, metric definition sessions, and data interpretation conversations with business users.

Does this sound like you?

  • Diploma or degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Equivalent combination of education, business experience, reporting experience, data platform experience, and ERP sustainment experience will be considered.
  • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data, Dynamics 365, or related Microsoft certification is preferred.
  • Training or practical exposure in data governance, dimensional modeling, SQL, Power BI administration, Fabric administration, business analysis, financial reporting, project reporting, or KPI frameworks is an asset.
  • Rquires 5 to 8+ years of experience in enterprise data, reporting, analytics, business intelligence, or ERP reporting roles.
  • Requires 3 to 5+ years of Power BI development experience, including semantic models, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), Power Query, report design, dashboard development, row-level security, workspace management, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, OneLake, semantic models, deployment practices, and governed analytics assets.
  • Experience supporting reporting and analytics for Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, Dynamics 365 Project Operations, Customer Engagement, or comparable ERP and CRM platforms.
  • Experience with project accounting, financial reporting, operational reporting, engineering project performance reporting, executive dashboards, and KPI development is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL, dimensional data modeling, ETL/ELT approaches, data reconciliation, master data, data quality management, and enterprise reporting governance.
  • Experience in a post-implementation sustainment environment supporting business-as-usual operations, report enhancements, release validation, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders, technical teams, application support teams, data engineers, vendors, and managed service partners to deliver reporting outcomes.
