Our client is a hospital seeking a Specialty Medical Director to lead a respected specialty and emergency institution in Southern California. The hospital provides advanced critical care, emergency, and specialty services and is looking for an experienced, collaborative clinician-leader to guide medical excellence, team development, and strategic growth within a high-performing, multi-specialty environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This opportunity is available on a Full-Time or Part-Time basis, with flexibility in clinical versus administrative time depending on the candidate's interests and strengths. The hospital operates 24/7, providing continuous emergency and critical care services.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Specialty Medical Director will provide medical leadership and strategic direction for the hospital while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include supporting and mentoring specialists, ER doctors, interns, and residents, and partnering closely with hospital and regional leadership to drive clinical quality, engagement, and growth. The role allows for maintaining an active clinical presence if desired. The ideal candidate is an experienced veterinarian, with board-certified specialists or experienced emergency clinicians preferred, and prior leadership experience strongly desired. A passion for advancing medicine, developing people, and shaping long-term vision and growth is essential.

The hospital is a renowned specialty and emergency facility centrally located in Culver City, Los Angeles, dedicated to providing comprehensive veterinary care. It offers 24/7 emergency care, critical care for the most complex cases, and advanced specialty services including Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, and Surgery, with advanced orthopedics through its Bone and Joint Center. The hospital is also known for Avian and Exotic pet care. With skilled doctors, advanced diagnostics, and an in-house laboratory, the facility supports swift diagnosis and treatment across a robust caseload that values gold-standard care, collaboration, and advanced medicine.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)

Salary up to $450,000 (Annual)

  • $400k -$450k base + production
