Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Director, Software Development to build and lead the technical direction for foundational OCI security and trust services. This leader will guide teams responsible for identity, authentication, authorization, service-to-service trust, KMS, secrets, KES, PKI, certificates, automation, monitoring, control plane technologies, operational tooling, and cloud service efficiency. The role combines organization building, executive technical strategy, operational excellence, and talent development for services that support OCI's global cloud footprint and the internal and customer-facing products that depend on it.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $193,600 to $414,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Responsibilities

  • Build, scale, and lead an engineering organization supporting OCI security and trust services.
  • Define technical strategy and execution plans for identity, authentication, authorization, service-to-service trust, KMS, secrets, KES, PKI, and certificates.
  • Drive development of monitoring platforms, automation frameworks, control planes, and operational tooling.
  • Partner closely with OCI, Security, Architecture, and Product organizations to align priorities and delivery plans.
  • Improve operational efficiency through automation, observability, engineering excellence, and cloud service efficiency initiatives.
  • Develop leaders and engineering talent across multiple organizational levels.
  • Oversee organizational planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and headcount growth.
  • Drive operational readiness, reliability, scalability, and customer-focused outcomes for security-critical cloud services.
  • Establish engineering best practices and a culture of accountability, innovation, and service ownership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience leading managers and large engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated success building teams and organizations from the ground up.
  • Experience operating large-scale distributed cloud services.
  • Strong systems architecture and operational leadership experience.
  • Experience with monitoring, automation, observability, infrastructure platforms, or control plane technologies.
  • Proven ability to drive organizational transformation and scale engineering operations.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud preferred.
