Job description

Take on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a school-based Physical Therapist near Des Plaines, IL. This full-time role spans the entire school year and allows you to make a significant impact on students' physical development and well-being in an educational setting. Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Physical Therapist license in Illinois
  • Background in pediatric, educational, or school-based settings a plus, but highly motivated new graduates are welcome
  • Familiarity with IEP documentation, treatment planning, and adapting therapy to diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, families, and support staff
  • Commitment to creative problem-solving and patient-centered care
Core Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct and indirect physical therapy services to students on your assigned K-12 caseload
  • Assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to student goals and abilities
  • Document assessments, interventions, and progress toward established objectives
  • Work closely with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapy in school routines and support classroom participation
  • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations
  • Support students with varied needs, fostering independence and inclusion in the school environment

This contract offers guaranteed weekly hours throughout the academic year, ensuring stability. Compensation will cover both direct therapy services and necessary indirect activities, such as planning and documentation.
