Job Description

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Director, Analytics & Compliance, located in Raynham, MA, Raritan, NJ, and West Chester, PA The Director, Analytics & Compliance will own the end-to-end strategy, operating model, and measurable outcomes for analytics-enabled compliance, risk monitoring, and enterprise financial reporting across DePuy Synthes. This leader will translate business, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Quality, IT, and operational priorities into scalable analytics products, SAP-fed financial reporting solutions, data controls, AI-enabled capabilities, and action-oriented monitoring processes that improve decision quality, risk coverage, productivity, auditability, and business performance. The role is accountable for moving analytics beyond reporting by ensuring that insights, financial reporting outputs, and risk signals lead to documented review, escalation, remediation, effectiveness measurement, and continuous improvement. This is a senior leadership role for a practical, business-oriented analytics leader who has built and owned enterprise financial reporting solutions sourced from SAP and can establish the foundations needed for a standalone DePuy Synthes analytics, reporting, and compliance capability during the planned separation from Johnson & Johnson.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and execute the multi-year analytics and compliance roadmap, aligned with business priorities, regulatory expectations, risk areas, separation readiness, and the evolving needs of the standalone DePuy Synthes organization.
  • Establish the end-to-end compliance analytics operating model, including data acquisition, data quality controls, risk detection, alert triage, human review, escalation, remediation tracking, evidence retention, and effectiveness measurement.
  • Define governance standards for analytics, advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled solutions, including model validation, explainability, human oversight, access controls, lifecycle management, performance monitoring, and responsible use.
  • Build and scale reusable analytics products, monitoring capabilities, dashboards, and decision-support tools that convert complex data into clear, actionable insights for business and functional leaders.
  • Build, own, and continuously improve enterprise financial reporting solutions that source data from SAP and related finance platforms, ensuring reporting is accurate, reconciled, scalable, controlled, and trusted by Finance and business stakeholders.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Quality, IT, Finance, Operations, and business leaders to identify priority risks, clarify decision rights, define ownership, and ensure analytics outputs are linked to documented decisions and sustainable process improvements.
  • Establish data governance and data quality requirements for compliance analytics, including critical data elements, authoritative sources, lineage, reconciliation points, stewardship, metadata, issue management, and remediation processes.
  • Develop measurable success criteria and performance metrics for analytics products and controls, including adoption, risk coverage, accuracy, timeliness, productivity, false-positive reduction, scalability, cost effectiveness, and audit readiness.
  • Lead pilots, validation activities, and continuous improvement cycles using clear hypotheses, baseline measures, business validation, user feedback, and ongoing monitoring to ensure analytics solutions improve decisions and control effectiveness.
  • Advise senior leadership on emerging analytics, AI, automation, regulatory, privacy, and operational risk trends, with clear recommendations on business value, control implications, scalability, and responsible adoption.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers and senior individual contributors, fostering accountability, technical excellence, business partnership, and a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.
QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor’s degreerequiredin Analytics, Data Science, Business, Finance, Compliance, Engineering, ora relatedfield.
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) preferred.
Experience and SkillsRequired
  • 10-12 years of progressive experience in analytics, compliance, data governance, risk management, business transformation, or related strategic roles.
  • Required experience building, owning, and scaling enterprise financial reporting solutions that feed from SAP, including integration of SAP finance data into governed reporting, analytics, and decision-support environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading managers and/or senior individual contributors in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong expertise translating business and compliance priorities into analytics strategies, operating models, products, controls, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience partnering with Legal, Compliance, Quality, Regulatory, IT, and business teams to identify risks, clarify ownership, and design practical monitoring, escalation, and remediation processes.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex analytics, data quality, AI, and compliance concepts clearly to senior leaders and nontechnical audiences.
  • Experience defining success measures and using data to evaluate adoption, accuracy, risk coverage, productivity, control effectiveness, scalability, and cost effectiveness.
Preferred
  • Experience in MedTech, healthcare, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud, including financial planning, reporting, analytics, dashboards, or enterprise performance management use cases.
  • Experience with advanced analytics, machine learning, GenAI, automation, model governance, or responsible AI practices in a business or compliance context.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, data governance, regulatory compliance, quality, monitoring, audit, investigations, or risk management frameworks.
  • Experience building scalable analytics capabilities, reusable data products, performance metrics, and operating standards across functions, geographies, or business units.
  • Demonstrated success driving adoption, behavior change, and accountability through clear storytelling, stakeholder engagement, training, and transparent measurement.
