Job description

This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of the Rochester, MN campus for on-site expectations. 

The Senior Director-Integrated Business Planning-MCL serves as the leader of the functional unit representing integrated business planning. The position is based in Rochester, reports to the Chief Operating Officer, serves as a peer to other MCL functional and business unit leaders, and participates as a senior member within MCL. The individual directly manages a team responsible for integrated business planning functions.

The Senior Director-Integrated Business Planning-MCL is responsible for the full continuum of activities that unite MCL demand and supply into a well-coordinated process. This position leads integrated business planning (IBP) and sales & operational execution (S&OE) governance, guides leaders of cross functional demand generation and supply planning teams, oversees the selection and integration of tools and processes that enable the planning process, aligns with planning stakeholders including business unit leaders, finance, sales, marketing and MCL leadership, and ultimately delivers optimized demand and supply coordination. 

Key responsibilities include:

Owning the end-to-end planning strategy encompassing demand and supply, ensuring alignment to financial, commercial, and operational targets across near-term (S&OE) and long-term (IBP) horizons

Leading IBP and S&OE governance, inclusive of working model facilitation and executive reviews

Ensuring quality data inputs and information outputs, supporting consensus and escalation as needed

Championing IBP and S&OE processes and driving process adherence to implementation cycles

Leading and developing demand and supply planning teams through coaching, performance review, and approval of continuous improvement initiatives

Serving as enterprise point of contact for planning to cross functional leadership

Master's degree in business, health care administration or related field and seven years of progressive experience are required.

Experience must include:

Experience supporting IBP/S&OE processes and governance forums

Experience guiding demand and supply planning in short-mid term with alignment to long-term strategy

Experience leading multi-disciplinary planning teams and driving strategic alignment across functions

Track record of building sustainable processes with proven results and continuous improvement

Additional Experience and/or Qualifications: 

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal (physician, scientist, administrative, supervisory, and allied health staff) and external client stakeholders. 

Excellent organizational, human relations, decision-making and problem-solving capabilities as well as excellent presentation and communication skills. 

Strong financial analysis, and strategic and innovative thinking capabilities.

Ability and confidence to effectively function independently, be a self-starter, a team player and have led direct reports in previous positions. 

Capable of effectively presenting to internal and external groups at a high level.

Accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible, and able to perform well within multi-functional environments.

Ability to manage people and projects simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects while adhering to Mayo Clinic and MCS policies and procedures.
