Position Summary:

We are seeking an Executive Director, PBM Analytics Product Management to lead and scale a high-impact analytics product portfolio. The Executive Director will oversee teams of data scientists working in product pods side-by-side with data engineering, product management, and design. The mission of these teams is to monitor the performance of operational systems, identify gaps and detect anomalies, and enhance them using advanced analytics and ML/AI. This leader will operate at the intersection of analytics, business strategy, and product management, partnering closely with senior executives to identify, prioritize, and deliver the highest-value opportunities.

This role requires a hands-on, execution-oriented leader who can step in on day one, quickly assess opportunities, and drive measurable business impact. The ideal candidate is a data science leader who has deployed analytical products in the healthcare space.

Key Responsibilities: Executive Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to VP and C-suite leaders, driving alignment on strategy, priorities, and value realization.
  • Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management skills, effectively influencing across functions and levels to drive outcomes.
  • Navigate complex organizational dynamics with strong executive presence, credibility, and impact.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional delivery across business, product, engineering, data science, and analytics teams.
Product Strategy & Value Delivery
  • Own the end-to-end analytics strategy and solution roadmap for a handful of projects.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable analytical strategies focused on measurable outcomes, cost optimization, and enterprise value creation.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities by analyzing business outcomes and working backwards to determine key levers for improvement.
  • Lead hypothesis-driven problem solving and rapid iteration to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Ensure products are customer- and user-centric, leveraging data, insights, and feedback to continuously refine priorities.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists and analysts.
  • Build a strong data science culture grounded in ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Mentor talent across the organization to elevate analytics capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in consulting, analytics, data science, or related fields, with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively at the executive level, with strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management, including aligning cross-functional teams and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Familiarity with modern styles of product management, including building and delivering software/data products in complex environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a structured, hypothesis-driven approach.
  • Experience driving strategy and transformation initiatives, including identifying cost optimization opportunities and translating them into actionable product strategies.
  • Ability to quickly assess business challenges and begin delivering impact immediately with minimal ramp-up time.
  • Track record of orchestrating delivery across complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate strategy, trade-offs, and outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in management consulting (highly preferred), data science training, and operating in teams that deliver analytical solutions through software products for business users.
  • Experience working in (or with) a large technology company (e.g., Big Tech), with exposure to scaled product, platform, or data ecosystems.
  • Experience in healthcare, PBM, or similarly complex, regulated industries
  • Strong business acumen with experience connecting product investments to measurable financial outcomes, including cost reduction.
  • Demonstrated cultural leadership and ability to model desired behaviors, including how they "show up" to drive engagement and alignment.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics or related fields preferred
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$175,100.00 - $334,750.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
