Together, we are Powering Progress towards a reliable and resilient energy future.

Role Overview

As a Junior Engineer (EIT), you'll play an important role in supporting the performance and reliability of Enfinite's generation portfolio. Working alongside experienced team members, you'll gain hands-on exposure to regulatory compliance, electricity markets, operational performance, and asset data management while building the technical and business knowledge needed to grow your engineering career.

This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate who enjoys working with data, improving processes, solving operational challenges, and collaborating with others. You'll work closely with Operations, Markets, Compliance & Assurance, Asset Management, and Finance to support business-critical reporting, analyze operational performance, and help ensure our assets operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

As you develop in the role, you'll have opportunities to take on increasingly complex responsibilities while working toward your professional engineering designation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, validation, and submission of regulatory and operational reporting for internal stakeholders, market operators, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain compliance records, permits, licenses, and reporting schedules, ensuring documentation is accurate, organized, and audit-ready.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on operational and market data across Enfinite’s assets, supporting dashboards, performance reporting, and decision-making.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, identify trends or anomalies, and assist with investigations into operational or market performance.
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, including tracking findings, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining reporting tools, templates, operational procedures, and standardized documentation.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather information, document processes, and support improvements in reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in site visits to build operational understanding and support field-based activities.
  • Contribute to special projects, analyses, and other engineering-related initiatives as required.
  • Support Enfinite’s safety culture by following procedures, participating in site activities, and promoting safe work practices.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel to Enfinite operational sites will be required for facility visits, audits, inspections, and project support.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with the applicable provincial engineering association.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize information, work with data, and communicate technical information clearly through documentation and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Interest in developing processes, improving systems, and learning how operational decisions are supported through data.
  • Co-op, internship, or engineering experience in power generation, utilities, renewable energy, industrial operations, or a related industry is considered an asset.
  • Exposure to regulatory compliance, operational reporting, asset management, or maintenance planning is considered an asset.
  • Experience with SQL, Databricks, Power BI, SCADA, or similar data management and analytics tools is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with power generation technologies, including battery energy storage systems, renewable energy, or conventional generation assets is considered an asset.

Additional Requirements and Information

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Ability to travel to operational sites throughout Alberta and other project locations as required.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments.
