Senior Quantitative Research Analyst - Applied Analytics

Introduction

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Quantitative Research Analyst - Applied Analytics (Applied AI & Quantitative Tools), where you will leverage strong engineering and analytical skills to build internal tools and workflows that accelerate research, improve productivity, and enable scalable innovation across our investment platform. This role is ideal for a hands-on, intellectually curious engineer who enjoys experimenting with emerging technologies, especially AI-enabled tools, and translating those ideas into scalable, high impact solutions used by investment professionals.

The Senior Quantitative Research Analyst - Applied Analytics will work as part of a team to support quantitative research, improve access to data, and develop internal tools that enhance the quality, reliability, and speed of our work. This role will help address key operational bottlenecks, including data systems and accessibility.

The position will report to the Director of Research.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain internal tools, services, and workflows that support quantitative research and investment decision-making.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate research, automate new and existing workflows, and enhance productivity.
  • Build, deploy, and maintain Python-based tools and cloud-native services in Azure (leveraging Azure Functions).
  • Improve data accessibility and reliability by creating reusable methods for extracting, validating, and transforming data from internal systems and external APIs.
  • Help develop and improve statistical, predictive, and quantitative models, as well as supporting analytics tooling.
  • Automate new and existing processes to reduce manual effort and improve consistency and auditability.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and data cleaning to support research and tool development.
  • Collaborate with our internal development team to support integration of research outputs and tools into broader technology workflows and products.
  • Produce and present data-driven research or tool outputs on a variety of investment and capital markets topics, as needed.
  • Work with Investment Analysts and Consultants to support unique analytical requests.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in applied AI, quantitative research methodologies, and engineering tools, and proactively identify opportunities to apply them.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as applied mathematics, statistics, data science, econometrics, engineering, or computer science (advanced degree is a plus).
  • 6+ years of relevant experience, ideally including experience building internal analytics tools, research platforms, or production-grade data/analytics workflows.
  • Strong experience coding in Python, including building production-grade scripts and data pipelines.
  • Experience with SQL, Power BI, R, and Excel required.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying code in cloud environments; Azure experience strongly preferred (including Azure Functions or equivalent serverless workflows).
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in incorporating AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Replit, Cursor, ClaudeCode) into workflows.
  • Familiarity with quantitative methods and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with economics and capital markets; experience in the investment industry.
  • Ability to gather, organize, and coordinate data from disparate sources (including internal systems and external APIs).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and comfort developing tools end-to-end.
  • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and navigate dependencies with other internal teams.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and an innovative mindset, including a willingness to experiment with new tools and approaches and bring practical solutions back to the team.
