Onvo Travel Plaza is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Information Technology to lead the organization's entire technology vision, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems across its growing network of travel plazas, restaurants, hotels and corporate facilities.
The IT Director will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for aligning technology investments with business objectives while ensuring a secure, and technology environment. This person will lead our technology strategy, ensuring systems, infrastructure, and applications align with business goals and operations. The ideal candidate combines executive leadership experience with a practical understanding of retail, convenience store, fuel, hospitality, and multi-location operations.
Essential Functions:
  • Develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with Onvo's business objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify technology solutions that drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee enterprise infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, telecommunications, and end-user computing.
  • Ensure maximum uptime and reliability across all travel plaza locations and corporate offices.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy.
  • Lead risk assessments, incident response planning, vulnerability management, and security awareness programs.
  • Protect customer, employee, and business-critical information assets.
  • Oversee technology platforms supporting:
    • Point-of-sale systems
    • Loyalty and rewards programs
    • Mobile applications
    • Digital menu boards
    • Self-service kiosks
  • Lead large-scale technology implementations and upgrades.
  • Fostering technology innovation, including AI initiatives
  • Manage relationships with hardware, software, cloud, and managed service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure vendor accountability.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT organization.
  • Develop and manage the annual IT operating and capital budgets, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business value.
  • Establish and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery programs to ensure operational resilience across all locations.
  • Oversee enterprise applications, including ERP, HRIS, financial systems, inventory management, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Champion data governance, reporting, analytics, and AI-driven decision-making capabilities across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable security, privacy, and payment card industry (PCI-DSS) requirements.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, new store openings, and expansion activities through technology integration and infrastructure planning.
  • Create and track key technology performance metrics, including system availability, cybersecurity, project delivery, and customer experience outcomes.

Credentials and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive information technology leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting multi-site retail, convenience store, fuel, hospitality, restaurant, or transportation operations.
  • Proven success leading enterprise technology and digital transformation initiatives.
