Precision Meets Opportunity - Direct Hire CNC Machinist
Build High-Quality Components That Power Innovation
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the electronics manufacturing industry to hire an experienced CNC Machinist for a direct hire opportunity. If you're skilled in CNC setup, programming, troubleshooting, and precision machining, this is your chance to join a company known for quality, innovation, and manufacturing excellence.
In this role, you'll produce precision-machined components to exact specifications while contributing to products used in demanding industries where accuracy and reliability matter most.
What You'll Do
As a CNC Machinist, you'll independently set up, operate, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC equipment to manufacture complex parts while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining centers, multi-spindle drilling machines, mills, press brakes, and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
  • Edit and optimize existing CNC programs and assist with programming new parts.
  • Select tooling, monitor machine performance, and make adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and vision inspection systems.
  • Detect machining issues, troubleshoot equipment, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support tooling and fixture design to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following ISO, AS9100, Nadcap, and other quality standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support cross-training when needed.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with trade school training in machine shop practices.
  • At least 3 years of CNC machining experience using vertical machining centers and precision inspection equipment.
  • Experience performing complete machine setup, program editing, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in electronics, aerospace, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, Nadcap, or NASA manufacturing standards.
  • Experience developing tooling or fixtures and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Previous experience training or mentoring other machinists.

  • Modern CNC equipment and advanced manufacturing technology.
  • A quality-driven environment serving highly regulated industries.
  • A collaborative team focused on continuous improvement and professional development.
