Operating with precision and expertise, the company takes pride in delivering high-quality components to meet the rigorous demands of the aerospace industry. With a commitment to innovation and reliability, Pressco Products supports the growth and success of its clients. With its rich 60-year history and new long-term contracts, Pressco is looking for a few key individuals who want to be a part of its continued growth and stability. We are seeking an experienced and eager Senior CNC Programmer to take ownership of developing and optimizing complex machining processes. This is a critical role focused on high-mix, moderate-volume production for 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers, CNC Mill-Turn, vertical and horizontal, and CNC Lathes, with a direct mandate to drive process improvement, cost reduction, and cycle time efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a hands-on contributor, focused on programming, process engineering, and quality assurance:
Programming & Setup
  • Develop, test, and debug complete CNC programs using G-code and M-code for 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC Mills and Lathes with live tooling to meet engineering and quality requirements.
  • Create and maintain essential production documentation, including detailed set-up sheets and comprehensive tool lists.
  • Utilize Mastercam to generate computer models and programs, and maintain configuration and control on all job records and program files.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead initiatives for process optimization and cost reduction across the CNC department.
  • Actively analyze and adjust program variables to achieve Cycle Time Reduction through optimized feeds, speeds, and efficient toolpath design, minimizing non-productive machine moves.
  • Perform thorough cutting tool evaluations, conduct cost analysis, and facilitate the implementation of new machining technologies and techniques.
  • Analyze part drawings, sketches, and design data to select optimal cutting tools and machining parameters.
  • Assist with designing custom tools and fixtures as needed to support manufacturing requirements.

Collaboration & Quality Assurance
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Tool Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Production personnel to ensure synchronization across all phases, from estimating to final production.
  • Work on the shop floor with machinists to prove out, test, and revise programs to ensure smooth and efficient production runs.
  • Ensure all final products adhere to blueprints and tight dimensional tolerances using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced professional who meets the following criteria:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of direct experience in CNC programming, specifically within an aerospace or high-precision environment.
  • CAD/CAM Proficiency: 5+ years of proven, hands-on experience using Mastercam. Experience with Catia and SolidWorks is also highly desired.
  • Machining Expertise: 5+ years of practical CNC machining operation and set-up experience, including the ability to proficiently edit programs at the control.

  • Measurement & Interpretation: Fluent in interpreting technical drawings, applying GD&T, and using precision measuring tools (calipers, bore gauges, micrometers).
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, highly organized, and exhibits excellent written/verbal communication skills with a strong focus on collaboration, encouraging positivity, teamwork across all departments, and quality standards.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation: We offer a highly competitive wage structure based on experience and proven expertise, with a base range of $35.00 to $50.00 per hour DOE. Compensation is regularly evaluated based on merit and performance.
