Job Title: PS Senior ATM Integration Software Engineer, Financial Services Location: Atlanta, GA preferred | Frisco, TX or U.S. Remote considered
Position Summary
NCR Atleos is looking for an experienced ATM Integration Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and deliver self-service banking solutions for financial institutions.
This role is part of our Professional Services organization and is ideal for an experienced engineer who already understands the ATM/self-service banking environment and can apply that knowledge to complex customer implementations. You will work on ATM software integrations, financial transaction processing, and enterprise solutions supporting highly available banking environments.
You will partner directly with customers and cross-functional teams throughout the solution delivery lifecycle, from requirements and technical design through development, integration, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Because our Professional Services teams support active customer commitments, we are looking for someone who can bring meaningful ATM domain and integration experience to the role and become productive quickly. This reflects the hiring team's stated priority of ATM domain knowledge and a shorter ramp-up for Professional Services delivery.
What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, test, and implement software solutions supporting ATM and self-service banking environments
  • Develop and support integrations between ATM applications, transaction-processing systems, and financial institution environments
  • Apply knowledge of ATM architecture, CEN/XFS, financial transaction flows, and integration technologies to customer solutions
  • Partner directly with financial institution customers to gather requirements, understand technical needs, and translate them into effective solutions
  • Participate in technical design discussions and recommend solutions based on customer requirements and existing environments
  • Develop and integrate APIs, web services, messaging components, and database-driven applications
  • Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and production issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Support software testing, deployment, implementation, and ongoing customer delivery
  • Lead technical discussions, project workstreams, design sessions, and issue-resolution activities as needed
  • Communicate technical risks, dependencies, and project status to internal teams and customer stakeholders
  • Participate in peer reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers
  • Contribute to automation, continuous integration, testing, and overall software delivery improvements

What You Must Have
  • Significant hands-on experience developing, integrating, or implementing ATM/self-service banking software solutions
  • Strong knowledge of the ATM ecosystem, ATM software integration, and financial transaction processing
  • Hands-on experience with CEN/XFS or related ATM integration technologies/frameworks
  • Strong software design and development experience in financial services, banking, payments, ATM technology, or a comparable self-service financial environment
  • Experience working with financial transaction messaging, including ISO 8583
  • Experience developing or supporting enterprise integrations, APIs, web services, messaging, and database-driven applications
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across complex integrated systems
  • Experience gathering technical requirements and translating business/customer needs into software solutions
  • Ability to work directly with customers and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical deliverables, and operate effectively in a fast-paced customer delivery environment
  • Experience working within Agile software development and delivery environments

Technical Experience
Candidates should bring strong software development and integration experience. Experience across several of the following technologies is valuable:
  • Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, and JUnit
  • C#/.NET
  • REST and SOAP web services
  • Java Messaging Service (JMS) and messaging queues
  • XML, HTML, JavaScript, Angular, AngularJS, and TypeScript
  • Oracle and SQL Server
  • JEE application servers and web servers
  • Object-oriented programming and software design patterns
  • Automated testing frameworks
  • CI/CD practices and continuous build/test environments
  • Secure software development lifecycle practices
  • Windows-based application environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with additional ATM protocols, platforms, or integration technologies
  • Experience working for or supporting a financial institution, ATM/self-service technology provider, payments organization, or related financial technology environment
  • Experience with ISO 20022 or other financial messaging standards
  • Experience with cloud technologies and modern deployment practices
  • Experience with containerization and infrastructure/deployment technologies such as Docker, Helm, or Terraform
  • Experience supporting highly available, customer-facing production environments
  • Experience leading technical design reviews, solution discussions, or defined engineering workstreams
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers
  • Experience identifying technical risks and recommending contingency or mitigation plans
  • Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills

What Success Looks Like
You will be successful in this role if you can combine strong software engineering capabilities with practical ATM and financial-services domain knowledge. You should be comfortable entering complex customer environments, understanding existing systems and integrations, identifying issues, and developing solutions that meet both technical and business requirements.
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving difficult integration problems, working directly with customers, and taking ownership of solutions from technical design through implementation.
Offers of employment are conditional upon passage of screening criteria applicable to the job.
Full time employee benefits include:
  • Medical Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
