Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive activities program for residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.

  • Create monthly activity calendars that offer a variety of recreational, educational, social, spiritual, and wellness programs.

  • Complete resident activity assessments and develop individualized activity plans.

  • Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to meet varying physical and cognitive abilities.

  • Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, entertainers, and community partnerships.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise activity department staff and volunteers.

  • Maintain activity documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • Manage department supplies and operate within the activity budget.

  • Work collaboratively with nursing, therapy, social services, and other interdisciplinary team members to enhance resident quality of life.

  • Ensure compliance with all CMS, state, and facility standards related to resident activities.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an Certified Activity Director, Activities Coordinator, Life Enrichment Director, Recreation Director, or similar role in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, assisted living, or long term care setting preferred.

  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to resident activities.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Creative, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with seniors.

  • Ability to plan and lead both individual and group activities.

  • Computer proficiency for documentation and scheduling.

  • Certification as an Activity Director is preferred but not required based on applicable state regulations.
