Job description

Job Title: Hotel Maintenance Technician
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Our Maintenance team is responsible for ensuring a safe environment and facility for all guests and co-workers by performing preventative maintenance programs, maintaining all equipment, and ensuring all attractions are inspected in a professional manner though training. This job operates in three shifts.

  • Inspect building and other structures to determine functional systems, detect malfunctions, and make needed repairs.
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching, and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
  • Respond to emergency situations.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager and Engineering Director in developing effective procedures to improve maintenance operations.
  • Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (e.g., preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks, and handles, etc.).
  • Prepare the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.).
  • Make notes and recommendations using pre-established check sheets.
  • Assist in ordering essential supplies and equipment for the facility.
  • Attend weekly staff meeting, and other meetings as assigned.
  • Maintain an efficient, cooperative atmosphere among staff members.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
  • 1+ years of hands-on maintenance experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of systems, including plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, chemical feeder, HVAC, and electrical.
  • General carpentry, drywall, and finish work abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating procedures/instructions.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide in whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).
  • Ability to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and implement appropriate actions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to speak and read English, additional languages a plus.
  • Ability to use ladders, lifts, and access confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Fine motor skills for handling small parts and tools.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate equipment, tools, and machinery safely.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (snow, cold, wind, rain, heat).
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to loud noise, fumes, dust, and chemicals.
  • Ability to work long or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
